How to choose the right shoes for your feet – Choose the right footwear for your feet for exercise, running, walking or for a dress and outfit online

Five golden rules about how to choose the right shoes for your feet !

Shop for good shoes in the evening

Your feet swell to their largest size as blood pools in them by the end of the day, which makes this the best time to shop. Shoe shopping early in the day, and you risk getting a pair that’ll be too tight.

Measure the size of your feet each time you buy shoes

Pregnancy, weight gain, and age can cause your feet to lengthen and broaden; your arches can change, too. Also, if one of your feet is bigger than the other (as in the case for lots of people), buy shoes in the size of the larger foot.

For sports shoes – whether you intend walking, running or exercising, leave a finger’s width of space between the end of your longest toe and the end of the shoe for toe movement and thicker socks.

The most important rule – is to try them on.

Select shoes that conform as closely as possible to the shape of your feet. Sizes differ by brand (and even within the same brand). Ask the salesperson to bring your normal size as well as a half-size larger and smaller.

Tip: Check your outfit and dress to the shoe retail outlet, if possible to check for a good match of color and style. That’s a bit of a dis advantage when buying online – unless you plan to return the shoes later.

Check shoes with socks

Bring or wear the socks you plan to pair with the shoes. Socks help to cushion your feet while exercising, walking or running or going for a beach holiday.

Go with your comfort level

You’ll know within minutes if a shoe is right for you. If it’s even a bit uncomfortable now, it will feel exponentially worse as time goes on. Remember, the footwear should carry you and not the other way around!

Heels should be cushioned and shock absorbent. More than 1 and half inches high can put excessive pressure on the balls of your feet, get you off balance, and shorten your calf muscles.

And flats with less than half inch of lift can alter the function of your knees, hips, and ankles. Other things you need to know: The thicker the heel, the better; and wedges are much more stable than stilettos.

Rubber soles are best if you pound the pavement all day or strand on a hard surface for more than a few hours.

Follow these tips and you will know how to choose the right shoes for your feet whether online or offline.
